The 2004 Summit, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, exhibits aromas of gravel, smoke, black cherries, cassis, and earth. In the mouth, lavender, blueberry, and black cherry characteristics also emerge. It is an elegant, complex, youthful yet accessible red that should drink well for 10-12 years.

While this is certainly not a shabby rating, we at kybecca think this wine is far superior to 90 points. The Summit is what we wish every California red could be; hefty, yet refined with elegant mineral tones intermingled with notes of cassis and sweet earth. A real stunner.
