Barboursville Sangiovese Reserve 2005
Barboursville Vineyards is serious about producing great Virginia wines, and under the direction of winemaker Luca Paschina, they are doing just that.
This Sangiovese is blended with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Fermentation and maceration are in stainless steel, then aged 6-8 months in 2nd/3rd-use French oak barrels.
The result is a rich and velvety wine with flavors of cherry and plum.
