About Us

Our Mission

Our mission at kybecca is to make artisan products accessible to everyone in a customer friendly format that relies on a first-rate selection, design, and education to set us apart.

Our Locations

There are two kybecca stores in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area.  The original one is located at 400-402 William Street in downtown Fredericksburg and is now called kybecca wine bar & shop since we opened our wine bar in mid-2008.  The second location is called kybecca wine and gourmet and is located at 4264 Plank Road, in Spotsylvania County next to Ukrops supermarket on Route 3.  Both shops offer extensive wine selections for you to browse, or you can browse and buy wine from this website.

Our Products

More is not better.

kybeccadowntown.jpg At kybecca we aim to edit your choices.  This may seem contradictory in a world of super-size grocery stores, and big box wine retailers, but we feel having hundreds of choices is overwhelming and rarely leads to greater satisfaction in purchasing.  Further, wine has turned into big business for a select few brands whose quality is mostly sacrificed for consistency.

We choose to celebrate family producers whose efforts tend to be far superior and more reflective of the terroir in which they are made.

Our approach is to develop relationships with quality vendors who are as committed as we are to promoting small production wine and beer.  We then cherry pick the best we can find from their portfolios.  The search is always on for the latest find that we can bring to you to enjoy.  Our selection is an extension of the personal service we provide; the best products we can find, personal recommendations, a store and a website designed with the customer in mind, and an innovative approach to the business of wine selling.

Happy shopping.

Our People

rebeccaatbar.jpg kybecca is the brainchild of Kyle and Rebecca Snyder whose love of wine, beer, and cheese inspired them to open a store that celebrated these basic food groups (we kid.. sort of).

Their vision for kybecca was to bring a unique approach to the marketplace.  A boutique atmosphere that shuns the idea of big-box retail in favor of careful selection, personal service with a welcoming and modern aesthetic.  Throughout their marriage, cooking, enjoying wine and beer, and experimenting with the best pairings has been a source of great joy.  kybecca is an expression of this pleasure, and a way to share it with all who visit us.

Kyle's construction know-how coupled with Rebecca's background in design have made them ideally suited to taking on the challenges of creating a fresh retail experience.  Before opening they visited countless wine shops, and from those experiences created the kind of store they wish had been available to them.

It is their joint belief that the enjoyment of artisan wine, beer and foods is an endeavor that brings them closer to each other, their families, and friends.

Life is meant to be savored, how better than with a tasty bottle and people you love?

Matt Thomas, Rebecca's brother, joined kybecca in 2006 and became a partner in 2007.  He is a Univeristy of Virginia graduate in Economics, and has traveled extensively including working in London for three years.   On his time off he enjoys reading and cooking big Sunday meals for the family.

Matt is now heading up operations at the Plank Road location, in addition to growing the website and doggedly researching and harrassing beer vendors for their latest and greatest.
